Food Trailer Price Guide

How Much Does a Food Trailer Cost?

Short answer: At A&A Center Trailers, custom food and concession trailers start at $7,600. That gets you a finished floor, walls and ceiling, insulation and an electrical package. Most of the food and concession trailers we sell land between $20,000 and $30,000. Fully equipped mobile kitchens can run past $100,000. Used trailers on our lot usually fall between those numbers, and in-stock prices are live below.

What Drives the Price (Biggest First)

  1. Hood vent and fire suppression. If you'll fry or cook on a flat-top, you'll typically add a hood with fire suppression. It's usually the biggest step up from a "vending" trailer to a "kitchen."
  2. Size and axle count. 7 ft vs. 8.5 ft wide, and the length. Bigger trailers cost more to build and give you more room to work.
  3. Cooking line: fryers, griddles, burners, ovens, steam tables, smokers.
  4. Plumbing. Hand sink, a warewashing setup that fits your menu (for example, a 3-compartment sink), water heater, fresh and grey tanks, and pump.
  5. Power: 30 vs. 50 amp package, generator box, outlet count, A/C (mini-split vs. rooftop).
  6. Refrigeration: reach-ins, prep tables, chef bases, freezers.
  7. Propane: lines, tank racks, how many appliances are plumbed.
  8. Exterior: .080 polycore skin (the BBQ porch build page notes it's over 3x as thick as the old .024 standard), color, blackout trim, wrap-ready finish.
  9. Porches, awnings, extra windows, bathrooms.

Other Startup Costs to Plan for

  • Local permits and licenses. Rules vary by state, county and city, so check the requirements in your area before you open.
  • Insurance, a generator, POS, smallwares, opening food inventory and a wrap or graphics.
  • Delivery, if you're not picking up in Jonesboro: about $2.50/mile through a third-party hauler; we confirm the exact rate when you call.

New vs. Used Food Trailers

  • Used saves money and gets you open sooner; pick one whose equipment fits your menu. We inspect electrical, welds, leaks, plumbing, A/C and tires on every trailer we sell (see our FAQ).
  • New custom gets you your exact layout. Your deposit includes a live 3D design session with our CAD designer, so you can see where the fryer, sinks and windows go before anything is built.

Food Trailer vs. Food Truck Cost

A food truck adds an engine, transmission and drivetrain, which means a higher price, higher insurance and downtime when the vehicle is in the shop. A trailer unhitches, so your truck can still do other work. More on this in Food Truck vs. Food Trailer.
